The latest entry in the action series, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, is now available in physical form for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Published by Dotemu and developed by The Game Kitchen, best known for Blasphemous, the new title sets out to infuse the pixel aesthetics of the original 8-bit releases with the intensity of Koei Tecmo’s modern 3D installments.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound introduces a dual protagonist approach, with players taking control of series veteran Ryu Hayabusa and his young protégé Kenji Mozu. As Ryu travels to America to fulfil his father’s final wish, a demonic threat is unleashed on Hayabusa Village. Kenji must rise to confront the invasion, forging an uneasy alliance with the Black Spider Clan and assassin Kumori to face the Demon Lord’s forces. Gameplay centres around precise, punishing combat, the ability to switch between characters, and the use of Ninja Fusion attacks.
Two versions of the game are available at retail. The Standard Edition includes the full game alongside a soundtrack and a retro styled booklet. For collectors, a Special Edition expands on this with a cloth map, four collectible metal pins, a double sided medallion, a pixel stage standee, a poster, and a premium collector’s box to house it all. Both editions are available now through Silver Lining Direct and select retailers across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and selected Middle Eastern markets.
