Stepping back from their mainline franchises, HoYoverse has unveiled Petit Planet, a new life simulation game seeking to blend creation, exploration and social play under the tagline “Weave Your Dreams Beneath the Stars”. Confirmed for PC and mobile with additional platforms in development, the title has opened registration for its Closed Beta test HERE.
Petit Planet tasks players with nurturing a personal world and linking it to others across a starry sky to form a growing galaxy. Each planet’s personality is shaped by Luca, a vitality force that alters landscapes as bonds deepen with fuzzy Neighbors who can visit and settle.
Core activities span planting, fishing, beachcombing, mining, cooking and crafting, with discovery-driven moments such as harvesting exotic crops, uncovering ecosystems and hosting gatherings. Customisation extends from outfits and interiors to outdoor layouts, while Luca can transform skies, grasslands and beaches to suit a player’s vision.
Relationship building sits at the centre of progression. Traveling Neighbors arrive with distinct personalities and goals, and friendships evolve through conversations, gifts and character-specific interactions. Off-world excursions include Starsea Voyages to new islets for rare creatures and hidden recipes, while the Galactic Bazaar serves as a social hub for events, coffee chats and meeting other players.
Presented in a stylised 3D art direction, Petit Planet marks HoYoverse’s first step into the life sim genre and will explore broader social and multiplayer features – something that has typically felt like a secondary component of their trio of recent 3D games – Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero.
