Monstronauts and developer Maccima Games have released Eat the Rich: Greed Games on PC via Steam, introducing a post-apocalyptic, capital-driven social deception experience in which rival billionaires scramble for survival. Versions for PlayStation, Xbox and mobile are also planned for a later date.
In Eat the Rich: Greed Games, players step into the role of eccentric elites trapped in a public spectacle devised as punishment for their part in society’s downfall. The objective centers on social manipulation and deduction, using alliances, half-truths and strategic betrayals to secure votes, build a fortune and avoid elimination during the final reckoning.
Progress is framed by a suite of tongue-in-cheek mini-games inspired by money-making schemes. Examples include sidestepping auditors in Tax Evasion, turning on allies in Conspire or Betray, and burning through resources in Crypto Miners.
Earnings can be invested in Advantages that bend the rules in a player’s favor. Options include Steal to swipe votes, Amnesty to clear one’s name, and Scapegoat to dodge elimination by shifting the target to another contender.
In introducing the concept, Monstronauts CEO Allen Tan outlined the team’s approach and the long road to launch.
The world already feels like a chaotic gameshow—so we made one. “The team set out to build something that’s both unhinged and familiar. After countless hours of fine-tuning every twist, mini-game, and betrayal, we’re thrilled to finally welcome the masses into the madness of Eat the Rich: Greed Games!
