Wizards of the Coast used this year’s San Diego Comic-Con to lift the curtain on Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man, a full crossover set arriving worldwide on 26 September 2025. The announcement follows the Secret Lair drops that brought Marvel characters to the trading-card game in late 2024 and early 2025, but this marks the first standalone expansion focused on the Friendly Neighborhood web-slinging Super Hero.
Attendees at the panel were treated to an early look at several cards, among them the new Showcase Scene treatment that pieces together comic-panel artwork when placed side by side. Wizards confirmed that classic cover images from artists such as Steve Ditko will appear on variants depicting Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy and a rogues’ gallery featuring Venom, Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.
According to Wizards, the design team has woven Spider-Man’s agility and problem-solving into bespoke mechanics, aiming to translate web-slinging and quick-thinking heroics into tabletop play. Full card previews and product breakdowns will begin rolling out in early September.
