NIS America has confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon will arrive on 15 January 2026, bringing the next instalment in the long-running RPG saga to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.
Alongside the date, the publisher outlined its exhibition plans for PAX West. From 29 August to 1 September 2025 this year, attendees can try the series’ first English-language demo months ahead of release. It is unknown whether this demo will be made available on digital storefronts post-event.
Trails beyond the Horizon reunites players with Van Arkride and his Arkride Solutions crew as Zemuria braces for its first orbital space mission. A surprise invitation from tech giant Marduk pulls Van, Rean Schwarzer and Father Kevin Graham into a continent-spanning investigation that threatens to upend the fragile political balance established in Trails into Reverie.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon is set to be a capstone for the wider Trails narrative, with the series entering its final chapter. and is backing that claim with new combat options. Away from the main quest, the Grim Garten dungeon returns as an end-game challenge where customised dream parties can chase rare drops and bonus story beats.
