Set in the time-honoured Ancient Magic Academy, Mado Monogatari follows Fia, a determined young girl who earns her place at the prestigious school and begins her journey to become a Great Mage. Alongside classmates and curious faculty, Fia will face difficult coursework, strange occurrences, and dangerous dungeon expeditions.
Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy seeks to blend dungeon-crawling and school-life gameplay, featuring randomly generated dungeons with real-time, turn-based combat where players collect elemental orbs to unleash powerful Great Magic Artes. Progress is tracked through the Grimoire system, which allows Fia to unlock new abilities by earning Learning Points from quests and assignments.
Outside the labyrinth, players can explore the academy grounds, participate in mini-games, cook stat-boosting curry, and build relationships with classmates. Materials gathered in dungeons can also be used in the Storage Room to synthesize new equipment, with advanced crafting options unlocked through continued Grimoire progression.
