Nickelodeon and GameMill Entertainment have unveiled a new crossover action RPG titled Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny, which is scheduled to launch in spring on the PC (via Steam) Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. The announcement was made during the Summer Game Fest showcase and marks a new collaboration from the team behind Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
Pitched as a fantasy-themed adventure inspired by tabletop role-playing games, Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny invites players to explore a variety of settings modelled after popular Nickelodeon franchises. The game blends ARPG mechanics with cooperative gameplay, supporting solo play as well as local multiplayer for up to four participants.
Players will be able to select from a roster of characters drawn from across the Nickelodeon universe. Among those confirmed is SpongeBob SquarePants, who featured prominently in a gameplay trailer released alongside the announcement. The trailer provides a closer look at SpongeBob’s combat style, combining ranged attacks, melee moves, and healing abilities.
Some of the character’s signature moves include:
- Bubble Blast – A ranged attack using a giant bubble to damage enemies.
- Goofy Goober! – A musical special where SpongeBob dons a wizard outfit and attacks enemies in all directions with guitar blasts.
- Kah-Rah-Tay! – A spinning martial arts-style move using his Kah-Rah-Tay gloves.
- Ol’ Reliable – A jellyfish net attack aimed directly at opponents.
- Pretty Patty – A healing item that restores health.
- Shield Bash – A defensive manoeuvre that charges and releases a powerful knockback attack.
- Order Up! Combo – A spatula-based triple combo that also restores mana.
