Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released on 3 October 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A new trailer accompanying the announcement reveals the first details about the game’s narrative and central gameplay mechanics – which can be viewed below.
The latest entry in the small but impressive line of Digimon Story games, Time Stranger follows twin protagonists, Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, ADAMAS agents who find themselves transported to the past. Their mission is to prevent the collapse of the Digital World, which is teetering on the brink due to the emergence of powerful beings known as the Titans. Failure to stop them could have catastrophic consequences for the Human World.
Throughout their journey, players will encounter a range of characters and Digimon, including the Olympos XII, a group of deity-like Digimon that play a pivotal role in the overarching story. Among other notable figures are Aegiomon and Inori Misono, who share a significant connection that will unfold during the game.
Players will be able to train and build bonds with their Digimon companions by engaging in activities such as battling, using items to enhance capabilities, and interacting within the DigiFarm. Combat is structured around strategic turn-based battles, where success relies on smart use of attributes, traits, and combo attacks.
Pre-orders for physical editions of the game are now available for all platforms. Digital pre-orders are live for PlayStation, with Xbox and PC versions to follow. Four editions of the game have been announced:
- Standard Edition: Base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the base game, Cyber Sleuth Set Costumes, and the Season Pass.
- Digital Ultimate Edition: Adds three character costumes per protagonist, three side missions, early unlocks for special Agumon and Gabumon, Public Safety Suit costumes, the Special Supplies Set, and the Cyber Sleuth BGM Pack.
- Collector’s Edition (exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store): Bundles the Ultimate Edition with a 15 cm Jupitermon figurine, an artbook, a metal case, and three exclusive trading cards.
The Season Pass will include three DLC packs, each introducing five additional Digimon and a new episode. Players will also receive the Golden Moai DigiFarm item as part of the pass.
All pre-orders, regardless of edition, will come with the Uniform of Certain School costumes, the Adventure Item Set, and special versions of Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black), both featuring unique evolution routes.
