Idea Factory International has released Scar-Lead Salvation, a sci-fi roguelite shooter, now available physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The game is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, both physically and digitally in the future.
A Deluxe Edition of Scar-Lead Salvation, priced at $79.99 / €79.99, includes the base game along with a range of digital content:
- Digital Soundtrack (32 tracks)
- Seeker Glow DLC
- Photon Strike DLC
- Digital Art Book (44 pages)
As a launch promotion, the Seeker Glow and Photon Strike DLCs are available to download for free on PlayStation and Steam from 29 May to 12 June 2025. These unlock access to Lv 5 Seeker Glow and Photon Strike weapons, which become usable after completing the game’s tutorial. While the DLC is exclusive to these platforms, the weapons can also be obtained through regular gameplay.
In Scar-Lead Salvation, players follow the story of Willow Martin, a woman who wakes in a strange facility with no memories and must battle her way through waves of mechanical enemies to uncover the truth of her identity and surroundings. Aiding her journey is an AI of uncertain allegiance, adding a layer of mystery to her escape.
The game features a loop-based progression system, where each defeat resets Willow’s progress but potentially brings her closer to answers. Levels are procedurally generated, offering varied layouts and enemy encounters each time. Players can equip different weapons, utilise status effects, and harness unique skills to overcome challenges.
Combat is bolstered by the Exo Force mechanic, which builds as players dodge and parry attacks. Once charged, Onslaught Mode can be activated, granting temporary invincibility and an opportunity to turn the tide of battle.
