Developer Kjun has announced that the May update for inZOI will be delayed until mid-June 2025. The decision was made to prioritise quality over speed, with the team choosing to refine key features, including the long-anticipated modding system, before release. In a statement to the community, Kjun apologised for the delay and confirmed that development is progressing steadily, with the goal of delivering a satisfying and stable experience.
Central to the June update is the introduction of the ModKit, a toolset designed to support user-created content. Creators will be able to customise and share content through in-game integration with CurseForge or via manual installation. The update will include editing tools for set outfit and furniture graphics, accessible JSON files for game logic tweaks, and sample projects to guide new modders. A simplified CAZ Wizard tool will also be offered to help beginners get started with set outfit creation, while more advanced features, such as scripting, will be added in future updates.
Kjun also addressed community feedback regarding how player input is reviewed and prioritised. Feedback from platforms like Discord, Steam, and customer support is assessed daily, with a focus on recurring themes and player impact. The team acknowledged the need for better transparency in how feedback shapes development and committed to improving communication moving forward.
In addition to modding features, the June update will bring significant improvements to the way Zois express emotions and develop personality. Following issues identified in April’s emotional stability update, fixes are underway for bugs that caused Zois to freeze or lack expression. The update will introduce more emotion-based behaviour—such as sadness affecting daily routines—and aims to make each Zoi feel more distinct and responsive.
Of course, this all comes with saying that inZOI is still in Early Access, and the cheaper price on Steam is set to reflect that players are part experiencing the game early, and also part testing the game experience for when it hits its final launch build.
