Developer Seed Lab has reintroduced its upcoming life simulation title Starsand Island during the inaugural Galaxies Gaming Showcase, unveiling a new trailer and confirming a 2025 release window. The game, seeks to blends slice-of-life gameplay with themes of personal reflection.
In Starsand Island, players return to the island home of their childhood and gradually rebuild their life by engaging in farming, fishing, animal care, and connecting with local characters. The experience is designed to be both personal and social, with support for solo play and multiplayer, and an emphasis on creativity through a detailed DIY building and customisation system.
Coinciding with the announcement, Seed Lab has announced the upcoming launch of a Kickstarter campaign to support the game’s continued development. Backers will have the opportunity to unlock stretch goals and receive exclusive rewards tied to the project.
Richardo Wang, Game Producer at Seed Lab, commented on the project’s return:
We’re incredibly excited to reintroduce Starsand Island to the world and debut our brand-new trailer as part of the inaugural Galaxies showcase. This is a project that means a lot to our team, and we can’t wait for players to get a deeper look at the world we’re building. Galaxies feels like the perfect place to share what’s next for Starsand Island and the journey ahead.
Furthermore, Golton Gao, also a producer at Seed Lab, added:
We’ve poured so much love into crafting an experience that’s all about comfort, creativity, and connection. Starsand Island is the kind of game we wish we had growing up—a peaceful escape where players can express themselves, explore at their own pace, and build something meaningful, either solo or with friends.
