Publisher Eastasiasoft has confirmed that Starlight Legacy, a retro-styled pixel art JRPG, will launch digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on 28 May 2025. A physical release is also planned for select platforms, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.
Developed by Decafesoft, Starlight Legacy aims to capture the spirit of 16-bit era RPGs, blending nostalgic visuals with modernised mechanics. Set in the kingdom of Evaria, the game follows three protagonists who become entangled in a growing conflict after a catastrophic event leaves the kingdom’s life-giving Eternity Tree in decline. Players must explore the kingdom’s four provinces—each accessible in any order—to retrieve powerful relics and restore balance.
The gameplay features turn-based battles and a non-linear structure. Players can expect a world with no load times between towns, dungeons, and field environments, and will also have the opportunity to engage in 3D flight sequences to traverse the overworld.
Starlight Legacy will be available for US$12.99/€12.99, with a 20% launch discount offered in select regions and platforms. The game will support a range of language options, including English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
