Marvelous Europe has confirmed that both Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar will be released on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. These titles were previously announced for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma reimagines the action-RPG and life simulation gameplay for which the Rune Factory series is known. Set in the eastern land of Azuma, players take on the role of an Earth Dancer tasked with combating a spreading corruption known as the Blight. The game introduces seasonal villages inspired by Japanese culture, village rebuilding elements, and new romance candidates. Players can choose between two protagonists connected by mysterious forces and wield sacred instruments to purify the land.
The game is scheduled to launch on 5 June 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2, with physical pre-orders to be made available soon at an RRP of €69.99. For the Nintendo Switch, both a standard edition (RRP €59.99) and a Limited Edition (RRP €99.99) are available. The Limited Edition includes a copy of the game, a two-disc original soundtrack (56 tracks), a 160-page art book, a themed folding fan, a Woolby plush keychain, and several DLC bundles.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will also be available digitally across all platforms. The digital standard edition is priced at €59.99 for Nintendo Switch and PC, and €69.99 for Nintendo Switch 2. A Digital Deluxe edition (including the “Seasons of Love Bundle” and “Festive Attire and Dark Woolby Bundle”) will be offered at €69.99, while a Super Digital Deluxe edition (adding a digital soundtrack and art book) will be priced at €79.99. All digital editions include the “Rune Factory 4 Hero Outfit Bundle” as a bonus.
Meanwhile, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, inspired by the classic handheld entry in the Story of Seasons franchise, features expanded gameplay, an enhanced story, and full voice acting during events—a first for the series. Set in Zephyr Town, players are tasked with revitalising a once-thriving bazaar by managing a farm, raising animals, and crafting goods to sell at their market stall.
The title will be released on 27 August 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam. A standard physical edition will be available for €49.99 on Nintendo Switch and €59.99 on Nintendo Switch 2. A Limited Edition, priced at €69.99/€79.99 respectively, includes a copy of the game, a plush Suffolk sheep, a poster, a 115-page art book, and an original soundtrack CD. Digitally, the standard edition (including the “Cow Set” DLC) is priced at €49.99 for Nintendo Switch and PC, and €59.99 for Nintendo Switch 2.
A Digital Deluxe edition (including the “Trunk of Transformation” DLC) will be €59.98, and a Super Digital Deluxe edition (which adds a digital soundtrack and art book) will be €69.99. Nintendo Switch 2 players may also purchase the “Digital Deluxe” DLC set for €9.99 or the “Super Digital Deluxe” DLC set for €19.99.
