Following ATLUS’ modern day remastered release of Shin Megami Tensei III, the studio is forging ahead with bringing another one of their PlayStation 2 era classics in the series – Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army – to modern day platforms. To be released under the title RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of The Soulless Army, in addition to the core base game and improved visuals, there are also set to be some new inclusions.
Set in an alternate Taisho-era Japan, players take on the role of Raidou Kuzunoha, a Devil Summoner tasked with investigating supernatural incidents across the Capital. This remastered edition brings with it a range of new features and additions, including over 50 new demons, expanded skill customisation systems, and quality-of-life improvements.
Combat is real-time and action-based, with Raidou able to summon demons to aid him in battle. Both Raidou and his demon allies can now gain Combat Skills and Passive Skills — unlocked through levelling, item usage, or fusion — and weapon crafting via Sword Alchemy allows players to customise Raidou’s combat options further. As Raidou builds loyalty with demons, he not only unlocks additional benefits and items but also increases his overall rank as a Devil Summoner.
The game features several returning characters. Among them is Kenzo Satake, a respected yakuza captain known for his local influence, and Sadakichi, an army deserter intent on exposing a covert Super Soldier Project. Mysterious antagonists include the inhuman Hell’s Pawns and the ominous Red Cape — both linked to the central conflict surrounding the Capital.
