Aniplex Inc. has released a free digital demo for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- on Nintendo Switch in Europe, with XSEED Games doing the same in North America. Covering the first seven days of the game’s 100-day storyline, the demo allows players to meet several characters and experience the early stages of the narrative and gameplay. Save data from the demo can be transferred to the full game upon its release on 24 April 2025 for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam (although the Switch demo won’t transfer across to the PC version, obviously).
To accompany the demo, a new ‘Gameplay Systems Trailer’ has also been released. Narrated in Japanese by in-game character Hiruko Shizuhara, the trailer provides a look at both combat and non-combat gameplay elements.
In The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-, players will take on the role of Takumi, who can explore academy facilities between battles, including the Training Room for virtual combat practice, the Garage for upgrading weapons, and social interactions with classmates to enhance bonds and raise combat stats.
Combat in The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- features tactical battles where players generate Voltage by defeating enemies or through the temporary sacrifice of allies. Thanks to the academy’s technology, fallen allies are revived after each battle, enabling strategic use of powerful “Last Resort” attacks that consume a character’s life to deliver significant damage and generate Voltage.
Developed by TooKyo Games Inc. and Media.Vision Inc., and published digitally in Europe by Aniplex and XSEED Games in the Americas, the game will be available in both Standard and Digital Deluxe editions.
