Pearl Abyss has announced that Black Desert Console will officially launch native clients for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 26 June 2025. This move marks a major step forward for the MMORPG, coinciding with the game’s fifth anniversary of crossplay support.
The new version will be available at no cost to existing console players, with full data transfer guaranteed to ensure a smooth transition. Following this launch, Black Desert Console will become exclusive to current-generation platforms, with support for previous generation consoles being phased out.
According to Pearl Abyss, this shift is driven by hardware limitations on older systems, which have made it increasingly difficult to deliver the latest content and updates. The transition is designed to improve game stability, enhance performance, and bring content parity across all platforms.
The update is also expected to lay the groundwork for new in-game content, including the regions of Ulukita and the upcoming class Deadeye, with more information to be shared closer to launch.
