Ubisoft ANZ has announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise set in feudal Japan, will be available for the public to play ahead of release at an event taking place at Fortress Sydney next week. The event will take place on Friday, 14 March, from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a 30-minute hands-on session with Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the venue’s Arena, with a limited number of exclusive pins available for those who participate.
In addition to gameplay, several themed activities will be held throughout the evening. From 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm, participants can test their knowledge during an Assassin’s Creed trivia event in the Tavern. Teams of up to five can register on the night, with the winning team receiving an Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition for each member.
For those interested in tabletop gaming, the 2315 Bar will host Mana on Tap, a community-focused Magic: The Gathering event. Players who bring their own decks will have the chance to receive a limited number of Assassin’s Creed Beyond Booster packs, courtesy of Ubisoft ANZ.
Limited edition food and drink, inspired by Assassin’s Creed Shadows and its setting in feudal Japan, will also be available during the event at a discounted rate for attendees.
Developed by Ubisoft Québec, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes players to 16th century Japan and follows the intertwined stories of Naoe, a shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, a samurai based on the historical figure of the same name. As Japan moves towards unification under Daimyo Oda Nobunaga, players will explore the characters’ personal journeys and shape their shared destiny during a time of conflict and political upheaval.
