NACON and Shine Research have unveiled the first gameplay footage of their upcoming simulation game, Architect Life: A House Design Simulator. This title invites players to step into the role of an architect, designing homes and managing construction projects. The game is set for release in June 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
The game offers two main modes: a structured Career Mode featuring 60 missions and a Free Mode where players can freely create their ideal homes, with or without constraints. Shine Research has focused on making the controls user-friendly across both gamepads and keyboard/mouse setups to ensure accessibility for all players.
In Architect Life, players will design homes based on client specifications, using a suite of intuitive tools that allow for the creation of straight or curved walls, multi-storey houses, and custom-shaped roofs. The game integrates realistic building constraints, requiring proper heating and room-specific requirements to create functional and comfortable spaces. Players can also customise interior and exterior designs using a variety of textures and colours, made versatile by an in-game colour wheel.
Beyond design, the game challenges players to manage construction processes. This includes selecting subcontractors, overseeing progress, and navigating unexpected issues like bad weather or contractor challenges. Success in Career Mode allows players to grow their business, unlock new terrains, and earn upgrades in a skill tree, granting access to advanced construction techniques and materials for larger projects.
