PlaySide Studios has announced that Kill Knight, their top-down action shooter, is now available on the Epic Games Store. To mark its launch, the game will be free to claim for 24 hours following availability, offering players an opportunity to experience the game without cost.
Kill Knight combines strategic combat with retro-inspired visuals and an energetic soundtrack. In the game, players must navigate layers of gameplay that involve managing resources, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and utilising a range of weapons and abilities to overcome demonic adversaries.
The Epic Games Store release also incorporates the new “Krystalized Update,” which introduces additional equipment, gameplay challenges, and adjustments. This update includes changes to the easiest difficulty level, “Regret,” aimed at making it more approachable for new players. Additional inclusions in addition to this are:
Weapons and Armour:
- Inculcators: Puncturing shard pistols.
- Dreadfaller: A heavy weapon that emits plasma beams.
- Hollowbrandt: A sword with a powerful slam attack that converts kills into heavy weapon energy.
- Umbrarite: Armour that spawns a vengeful Shade companion.
Augments:
- Meticulous Azurite: Restores heavy ammo during Wrath Bursts.
- Abyssal Flourite: Pulls in Health Shards during Quick Absorbing.
Game Modes:
- Updated Sever Mode: Includes enhanced enemies known as Krystalized Demons, which provide bonus scores when defeated.
- Weekly Descent Mode: Rotating challenges with weekly leaderboard resets for competitive play.
Demon Bestiary Kodex: Players can now unlock lore and insights about the game’s demonic foes using in-game tokens.
