Bandai Namco has announced the return of Heihachi Mishima to Tekken 8, marking the third DLC addition in Season Pass 1. He joins Eddy and Lidia in the expanding roster, bringing the total character count to 35. Despite his apparent demise at the end of Tekken 7, Heihachi is back, having honed a new fighting style influenced by his time with the Tekken monks. Alongside Heihachi’s return, a new stage, the Genmaji Temple, is available to acquire.
Additionally, the latest game update (version 1.08) introduces a range of free content, including a new Story Mode titled Unforgotten Echoes. This mode runs parallel to Tekken 8’s main story and provides further insight into how Heihachi survived the events of Tekken 7. In this mode, players can control Heihachi, Eddy, and Lidia, even if they do not own the DLC characters.
The update also adds several features requested by the community, such as the ability to place any character on the Tekken 8 main menu screen and the option to practice online with friends via the Tekken Fight Lounge. Additionally, a new Tekken Fight Pass is available, featuring exclusive items like a collaboration shoe with NIKE. Players can also claim limited-time Gentle Monster sunglasses for Kazuya in-game.
