Reverse: 1999 Version 1.9 – Lucy Tutorial

With the release of their 1st Anniversary update for their 20th Century Time-Travel strategic RPG Reverse: 1999, developer Bluepoch has shared a new official tutorial guide for Lucy, the new 6-star character who has made her debut in this version’s banners. Unlike Semmelweis, who was offered as a free character marking the first anniversary – getting access to Lucy requires you to appease lady luck and pull for her on her respective banner.

If you like the cyberpunk style of Lucy and want to know more, the official guide for her can be found below:

Reverse: 1999 Version 1.9 - Lucy Tutorial 1

Lucy – who demonstrates strong versatility whilst also assisting teammates in dealing greater damage – is one of the main additions to the game via the Version 1.9 update, which celebrates one year since the launch of Reverse: 1999. Players can summon Lucy in the Anniversary Limited Banner called “Thoughts in Cylinder”. She is a main DPS who can bring excellent DMG.

Just like previous characters such as APPLe, Ms. Radio, and Mr. Door, Lucy is an Awakened arcanist. Her core is made up of a piston that was part of the Watt steam engine prototype. In her early years, Lucy witnessed the birth of science as a profession and, as such, she relentlessly pursues scientific development and pays attention to little else.

Lucy was the leader of the LSCC (Laplace Scientific Computing Center). Although a robot, she gradually developed “human emotions” and even set up an anonymous suggestion box at the LSCC, striving to bridge the gap between herself and humans.

The character design of Lucy is inspired by Robot Maria from the silent movie Metropolis. Metropolis is an expressionist science fiction silent film by the renowned German director Fritz Lang, and one of the most important works in the history of cinema.

Overall Definition:

Lucy is an Intelligence DPS who can upgrade during battle. When an enemy is defeated, she gains a permanent buff and takes an extra action.

  • After casting her Ultimate, Lucy becomes a stronger Afflatus to all enemies and increases all allies’ DMG Dealt against targets of a weaker Afflatus.
  • Lucy gains [Dynamo] whenever an ally gains Moxie or Eureka. With a certain number of [Dynamo] stacks, she can upgrade her incantations. She can also greatly enhance the power of her incantations by consuming [Dynamo] stacks.

Skill Introduction

  • Power of Speed: 1-target attack. Deals Reality DMG. Consumes a certain number of [Dynamo] stacks to deal additional Reality DMG.
  • Power of Speed (After Upgrade): Mass attack. Deals increased Reality DMG to the main target and half of that to the secondary target. Halved [Dynamo] cost.
  • Electric Surge: Mass attack. Deals Reality DMG to 2 enemies. Consumes a certain number of [Dynamo] stacks to attack 1 additional target. If there are less than 3 targets, deals additional Reality DMG.

Electric Surge (After Upgrade): Deals additional Genesis DMG based on own ATK. Halved [Dynamo] cost.

  • Ultimate Skill “A Step Forward”: Self buff. Gains [Pragmatist], [Data Iteration], and [Charged Ammunition].
    • [Pragmatist]: All attacks are considered to have a stronger Afflatus. Increases all allies’ DMG Dealt against targets of a weaker Afflatus.
    • [Charged Ammunition]: Before attacking, gains a certain number of [Dynamo] stacks.

A Step Forward(After Upgrade): Upgrades [Charged Ammunition] to [Overcharged Ammunition] and gains more [Dynamo] stacks. After casting the Ultimate, gains Moxie.

  • Insight 1: For every Moxie Lucy gains, she gains 2 stacks of [Dynamo]. For every Moxie or Eureka Lucy’s ally gains, she gains 1 stack of [Dynamo]. Whenever the party gains 20 stacks of [Dynamo], Lucy gains [Advancement].
  • Insight 2: Critical Rate +10% when the caster enters battle.
  • Insight 3:

After casting an Ultimate, enters [Leadership] status for 2 rounds and casts [Conservation of Energy] 1 time as a Rank 2 incantation.

When an enemy is defeated, gains 10 stacks of [Dynamo] and 1 stack of [Data Iteration] and casts [Conservation of Energy] 1 time as a Rank 2 incantation (triggers up to 2 times per round).
