The latest instalment in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Gundam Breaker co-op hack-and-slash action game series, Gundam Breaker 4, is now available to Gundam enthusiasts worldwide. The game is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with Bandai Namco aiming to present an action-packed experience focused on customising and battling with Gunpla models.
In Gundam Breaker 4, players should go in expecting a robust experience centered on building custom mecha by using parts from over 250 iconic Mobile Suits from across the Gundam series. These custom creations can then be taken into virtual battlefields, where players can team up with up to three others in co-op multiplayer to engage in high-intensity combat. The gameplay involves hacking, slashing, and shooting through waves of enemy mechs, collecting their parts, and upgrading builds to enhance their capabilities.
A new feature in this instalment is the ability for players to dual-wield different weapons, allowing for unique combat combos. This feature enhances the gameplay by providing more dynamic battle strategies, as players seek out the best parts to construct their ideal Gunpla. The game also includes a fully voiced story mode, where players will uncover the dark secrets behind the GBBBB battle simulator.
Between missions, players can access a mecha garage, aiming to offer extensive customisation options. This includes not only new parts but also paint, decals, and weathering effects, enabling players to create their ideal mecha. Players can take their completed Gunpla into a variety of offline and online missions, facing off against bosses and enemy hordes to acquire new parts and in-game currency. The game also offers Quest missions, where players can fight to collect valuable Gunpla parts or target specific NPC enemies for additional rewards.
For those who like to build and admire, Gundam Breaker 4 introduces the Diorama Mode, a feature that allows creative-minded players to build intricate scenes with their Gunpla models. Using a variety of backgrounds, environmental elements, and special effects, players can craft detailed scenarios, position their models in dynamic poses, and share these creations with others around the globe.
Developed by Crafts & Meister, the development team behind all past Gundam Breaker games, the last being released in 2018, this series has been the studio’s main focus over the last decade.
