With Genshin Impact Version 5.0 having gone live in recent days, and Zenless Zone Zero having been released just a couple of months back – HoYoverse’s development team are still keeping up with their “middle child” game — Honkai: Star Rail. During a dedicated livestreamed “special program” event last night, it was confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5: Flying Aureus Shot to Lupine Rue is set to go live on all servers starting 10 September 2024.
This update introduces the Wardance ceremony, new powerful adversaries, and the continuation of the Xianzhou Luofu’s trailblazing storyline. Players can look forward to recruiting new five-star characters, including Feixiao, General of the Xianzhou Yaoqing, who will also appear in the Echo of War, Lingsha, the Cauldron Master from the Alchemy Commission of the Xianzhou Luofu, and Moze, the Shadow Guard of the Yaoqing.
Regarding the overarching narrative of the update, a recent prison break in The Shackling Prison has prompted the arrival of the Cloud Knights, who are spearheading rescue efforts. General Feixiao will lead her troops to capture the Borisin criminals and secure the surface of the Luofu. Meanwhile, General Jing Yuan will investigate the incident, and General Huaiyan will oversee the Six Commissions of the Luofu. As hidden truths within the Shackling Prison emerge, the ongoing silkpunk narrative will advance towards its climax.
The Luminary Wardance, a key feature of Version 2.5, will also commence, drawing numerous participants, including the character Luka, who is visiting Xianzhou Luofu for the first time. Players engaging in Luminary Wardance-related activities will have the chance to earn the pet companion “Tuskpir.” Additional events in Xianzhou will provide further opportunities for players to obtain some goodies..
Feixiao (Wind, Hunt), a five-star playable character known as the Merlin’s Claw of Xianzhou Yaoqing, will make her battlefield debut. As one of the Seven Arbiter-Generals, Feixiao is celebrated for her mastery of martial arts and her straightforward nature. In battles, she supports her allies by following up their attacks with her own, accumulating “Flying Aureus” to power her abilities. Her Ultimate ability consumes this power to deliver a series of potent strikes that reduce enemy toughness and bypass weaknesses. In Version 2.5, Feixiao will also introduce a new trial for Trailblazers: “Echo of War: Inner Beast’s Battlefield.” In this trial, players will face a shadow of Feixiao and the apparition of Flying Aureus—Ecliptic Inner Beast.
Lingsha (Fire, Abundance), another five-star character from Xianzhou, joins the roster. Renowned for her ability to diagnose illnesses and soothe others using incense, Lingsha maintains a calm demeanor and excels in social interactions. In combat, she summons an incense beast named Fuyuan to assist her. Fuyuan can deal damage to all enemies, dispel debuffs from allies, and heal them. Lingsha’s Ultimate also damages all enemies, heals all allies, and inflicts the Befog state, which increases Break damage on enemies.
Additionally, Moze (Lightning, Hunt), a four-star character known for his reticent and solitary nature, will become playable. As a Shadow Guard of the Yaoqing, Moze operates in secrecy and rarely reveals himself. In battle, he marks an enemy as the Prey, dealing additional damage when allies attack the marked target. His Ultimate allows him to deal damage to enemies and perform follow-up attacks, introducing new tactical elements to the gameplay.
Version 2.5 will also feature a special Warp Event. In the first half, limited five-star characters Robin, Black Swan, and Kafka will be available, with the Warp count for the guaranteed five-star shared across both rerun and current limited banners. Switching banners will not reset the guarantee count. In the second half of the update, the limited five-star character Topaz will have a rerun.
