An exemplar of a game series peaking early and never really capturing the same charm after its first few iterations, Capcom’s Dead Rising series was arguably most iconic in its first release, 2006’s Dead Rising, originally released for the Xbox 360. The developer and publisher is aiming to release Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which will bring the original game alongside several enhancements to players on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC digitally from 19 September 2024.
However, those who would prefer to own a disc copy of their game will also have an option – with Capcom confirming that a physical release will be made available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 8 November 2024.
Confirmed enhancements to this game include:
Visual Enhancements: The game, developed using Capcom’s RE ENGINE, promises to deliver enhanced graphics with 4K resolution and a smoother gameplay experience at 60 FPS.
Quality-of-Life Improvements: Players can now perform certain actions while communicating on the transceiver, and in-game calls will no longer be interrupted by attacks.
Photo Mode Enhancements: New photo filters such as Black and White, Sepia, Vintage, and Pixel Art have been added, allowing players to capture their zombie-slaying adventures creatively.
The Cast: The remaster offers a deeper look into popular returning characters, including Brad Garrison, Jessie McCarney, and Russell Barnaby, as well as Psychopaths like the Convicts, Steven Chapman, and Larry Chiang.
For those interested, pre-orders include access to three exclusive costumes and mall background music tracks. Additionally, the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition offers 17 Frank West costumes and 17 background music tracks.
