While the days of actual toys-to-life games appear to be long behind us, 10:10 Games together with Universal Products & Experiences and Funko Inc. are working on a new game inspired by the Funko Pop! brand of toys. The game is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch platforms starting 13 September 2024. It should be noted that unlike previous games based around toy brands such as LEGO Dimensions, Disney Infinity and Skylanders – you will not need to buy specific toys.
Funko Fusion is pitched as an action-adventure, single player and online co-op experience, which combines the Funko Pop! brand of toys with paying tribute to the roster of worlds within the NBCUniversal roster. In the game, players will celebrate their favourite movies and TV series across a wide range of more than 20 franchises: from films such as Jurassic World, JAWS, Back to the Future, The Thing, Shaun of the Dead and Chucky; to television series such as Battlestar Galactica, The Umbrella Academy and Masters of the Universe, and many more.
This is the debut title from 10:10 Games, a studio co-founded by Jon Burton, founder of the still-active Traveller’s Tales development studio and director, producer, and designer of many games from the 90s onwards.
You should expect to hear more about the game and its gameplay mechanics in the months leading to launch.
