Dicefolk, a new tactical roguelike game that incorporates dice-based combat with monster recruiting mechanics, is set to release on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Announced by Good Shepherd Entertainment in collaboration with LEAP Game Studios and Tiny Ghoul, Dicefolk was released on the PC back in February 2024, enjoying a Very Positive from 394 community scores, and sets out to provide an engaging combat system featuring adorable monsters — which you both befriend and master through battle through their individual unique abilities.
In Dicefolk, players assume the role of a Chimera Summoner embarking on an adventure populated with a wide array of formidable creatures. These creatures can be recruited to join the player’s team. Cultivate connections and befriend powerful companions to accompany you on your journey. Keep in mind all of your Chimeras’ abilities to fully utilize your team’s strengths. There are over 100 creatives and items to collect.
The narrative unfolds in a world on the verge of collapse, threatened by a sorcerer named Salem who has commanded magical beasts known as Chimeras to rebel against humanity. Players will navigate this perilous world as Alea, a young hero of the Dicefolk, who discovers she can harness her dice’s magic to forge bonds with Chimeras. Armed with this new power, Alea sets out on a mission to thwart Salem’s plans and liberate her homeland.
