FOAMSTARS’ Second Season to Commence in Early March, “Groovy Disco”

Today, Square Enix announced the upcoming launch of the newest season for FOAMSTARS, titled “Groovy Disco”, set to begin 9 March 2024. This announcement follows the online 4v4 foam party shooter game’s inclusion as a February PlayStation Plus monthly game, allowing PlayStation Plus subscribers to download and play the game at no additional cost until March 4, 2024, where it will then be available to purchase via the PlayStation Store for everyone else, albeit still with the requirement of a PlayStation Plus subscription for online play.

The “Groovy Disco” season, marking the second season of Foamstars, will be accessible to players from 9 March 2024 until 13 April 2024. This new season introduces a variety of updates and features, including a new character, additional game modes, and an array of free and premium cosmetic content.

Key highlights for Season Two include:

  • The introduction of a new character, “Coiff Guy”, unveiled during the Season One “Happy FriYAY Party” event. Players can unlock “Coiff Guy” for free as a Tier 31 reward in the Season Pass or gain immediate access by purchasing the Premium Pass.
  • The expansion of Foamstars Missions with Missions 4-6, offering players deeper insights into the characters’ backgrounds and strategies, including a boss battle against “Dark Ramzey” in Mission 6.

Season Two also brings limited-time events such as:

  • Ranked Party: Players can advance through seven ranks in two seasonal events, the solo “Ranked Party Lonestar” and the team-based “Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe”, culminating in the “Rank-Up Trials” for top-ranking players.
  • Extreme Party: Featuring special themed modes like the “All Coiff Guy Party”, where teams compete exclusively as Coiff Guy, and the “Super Duel Party”, focusing on 1-on-1 battles.
  • Happy FriYAY Party: A weekend event designed for casual play, allowing players to experience the upcoming season’s new Foamstar without the pressure of competition.
