A new spin-off game in their iconic Farming Simulator game series, publisher and developer GIANTS Software has confirmed their newest title, Farming Simulator Kids, will be launching on the Nintendo Switch starting 26 March 2024. While by no means as complex as the core game, and with a more child-approachable, cutesy aesthetic as well, it is being developed with the ethos of teaching the joys and importance of farming.
Farming Simulator Kids invites young players to live a cozy farm life – cute and colourful, with a variety of farming-related activities and various locations to explore. Coinciding with the release date announcement, the first trailer for the game has also been released, seeking to provide a glimpse into a day of an aspiring young farmer – from gardening, planting and harvesting crops to milking cows. And hey, since John Deere was involved in the development of the game from the beginning… they can even sit in one of their tractors.
Pre-orders are set to commence soon for Farming Simulator Kids‘ physical release, which will come with a 12-page colouring book. Question is, will it serve as the somewhat lacklustre step-above mobile gaming that the trailer implies it could be, or will it be something that is a crop above the rest? Time will tell.
