With only a month left until the launch of Persona 3 Reload on various platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, ATLUS, P-Studio and their ATLUS West division have unveiled a brand new opening sequence for the game.
The new opening features a fresh theme song, ‘Full Moon Full Life!‘, replacing the PlayStation 2’s original iconic theme ‘Burn My Dread’. The new song, composed by Atsushi Kitajoh, showcases the vocal talents of Azumi Takahashi, who has taken over as Persona 3’s main vocalist and Lotus Juice. This update maintains the core aesthetic and themes of previous Persona 3 openings, while enhancing the style and quality to align with modern Persona game releases.
Of most interest to me are the scenes near the ending of the sequence, featuring Aigis. While it has been confirmed that ‘The Answer’ arc, to this day exclusive to Persona 3 FES, will not be included in Persona 3 Reload, the hint of her affinity to the ‘The Fool’ instead of Aeon makes me wonder if they will incorporate elements of that story, or a whole new route in Persona 3 Reload.
As many fans brace for a fresh climb up Tartarus as S.E.E.S., chill out to this enjoyable song, and expect more in the days and weeks leading to this anticipated release.
