Make Way Launches on Steam, Switch, Xbox: A New Party Racing Game with Cross-Play

Published by Secret Mode and created by the Dundee-based development studio Ice Way, Make Way has officially launched on multiple consoles today including the PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. This new DIY racer seeks to provide a “chaotic” cross-play party experience on all supported platforms, with a PlayStation 4/5 version also currently in development, for release in the near future.

Aiming to offer a distinctive DIY approach to track design, Make Way encourages players to create their race courses using a variety of track pieces and hazards. Players engage in a cycle of building their tracks, racing on them, and then continuing to build, aiming to craft a ‘masterpiece’ track. The gameplay loop?: Build, Race, Win, Repeat.

Key features of Make Way include:

  • The ability for players to mix and match track pieces and hazards, creating a nearly limitless array of course configurations.
  • A range of weapons and power-ups to collect during races, adding a competitive edge.
  • Options to unlock new track pieces and vehicles, enhancing the game’s replayability and variety.
  • Support for up to four players in both local and online settings, featuring cross-platform multiplayer capabilities.
  • Customisable rules that allow players to adjust various aspects of the game, such as safety barriers and hazard placement, tailoring the level of chaos to their preference.

Make Way is available now on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $14.99 / £12.99 / €14.99 or local equivalent. The game is also featured in the Jingle Jam 2023 Games Collection on Steam, accessible until 14 December. Players awaiting the PS4 and PS5 versions can expect a release in the near future.
