During their ‘Like a Dragon’ Direct live broadcast earlier today for Tokyo Game Show 2023, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku came equipped with confirmation that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S starting 26 January 2024.
This new instalment in the wider ‘Like a Dragon / Yakuza’ franchise continues the story of Ichiban Kasuga, and will also bring him face-to-face with Kazuma Kiryu, who is now a broken man facing down his last days.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will feature a notable change from the locales of previous games, primarily being set in Honolulu, Hawaii – and offering a range of classic and new activities to do across the city. These include taking scenic photos in Sicko Snap, help Ichiban make some cash in Crazy Delivery, inspired by the SEGA classic Crazy Taxi and more.
According the SEGA:
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth delivers a one-of-a-kind RPG experience with combat boasting greater depth, quality-of-life refinements, and improved gameplay favoring speed and strategy. The playable party now has full freedom of movement while fighting, allowing you to strategically position yourself and your allies to take down foes more effectively.
Joining the game will be newly voiced characters, including Dwight, leader of the Barracudas, who supervises the largest counterfeit goods market in the world aided by his sharp sense of business and even sharper machete. This character will be voiced by Danny Trejo. Masataka Ebina is another new character, a ruthless captain of a yakuza syndicate, who will be voiced by Daniel Kae Kim.
