New adventures await in Honkai: Star Rail, with HoYoverse confirming that Version 1.3: Celestial Eyes Above Moral Ruins will be launching on all supported gaming platforms starting 30 August 2023. This announcement follows a dedicated livestream held by the developer and publisher in the late hours of yesterday evening.
Following the surprisingly intense story events of Version 1.2, this is set to offer the next set of story missions, in addition to a range of new playable characters, a new area, an updated to the Simulated Universe and more.
In the post-Ambrosial Arbor crisis world, the narrative focuses on assisting residents in restoring normalcy. As the recovery efforts continue, Version 1.3 uncovers the previously bustling commercial hub, Aurum Alley. Here, Trailblazers play a pivotal role in strategizing logistics and cargo organization to resurrect this area.
Version 1.3 also sheds light on Herta’s Simulated Universe. The expansive update includes “The Swarm Disaster”, which draws inspiration from a historical swarm calamity initiated by Tayzzyronth, the Aeon of Propagation. Trailblazers, while exploring this universe, will traverse dynamically designed domains, confront challenges, and potentially discover the intriguing “Path of Propagation.”
Following the character’s story debut in Version 1.2, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae is set to be a major addition to the playable character lineup. The five-star Imaginary-Type Destruction-Path character incorporates new battle mechanics, allowing him to consume multiple Skill Points to initiate powerful abilities. Depending on how these abilities are leveraged, his basic attacks undergo varying transformations. Additionally, during his Ultimate move, he inflicts Imaginary damage to adversaries while simultaneously procuring Squama Sacrosancta, compensating for the Skill Points utilized.
Fu Xuan, another character from Xianzhou Luofu, will also join the ranks of recruitable and playable characters. A five-star quantum element, preservation path character, she offers a skillset covering damage reduction, absorbing harm aimed at her allies, and unleashing Quantum damage to enemies.
Lynx, hailing from the prestigious Landau lineage, is the third addition. This four-star character exudes an innate curiosity for the external world. Immersed in historical chronicles and family legends, Lynx’s frequent escapades into the perilous Snow Plains have polished her survival prowess. In battle, as a Quantum-Type on the Path of Abundance, she provides a slew of healing utilities, ensuring her team’s safety during their cosmic voyage – and offering another healing option for your party.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3: Celestial Eyes Above Moral Ruins will be launching on the PC, iOS and Android platforms starting August 2023. Additionally, HoYoverse has confirmed that the game is expected to release on the PlayStation 5 in the fourth quarter of 2023. Cross-Save and Cross-Play connectivity is pitched, and hopefully better implemented than with Genshin Impact, where I for example am locked to European servers when my character is on a North American server.
