First DLC for Atomic Heart – Annihilation Instinct – to Release in August

Following the game’s launch in February 2023 across current and last generation gaming platforms (+ the PC), Focus Entertainment and the development team at Mundfish has announced details on their first DLC for Atomic Heart. Titled Atomic Heart: Annihilation Instinct, the journey will continue past the base game’s climax. The DLC is set to become available on 2 August 2023.

Prepare to embark on a journey through the new mind-bending Mendeleev Complex and its surrounding swamps and discover the truth about NORA as Major P-3 is pulled back into Facility 3826. Players will also meet a new enigmatic character, and also unique with returning faces, as they help you dive deep into the AI’s insanity to curb its Annihilation Instinct.

To help you survive the vicious, shape-shifting new enemies within these new areas and take them down, DLC owners will gain access to twog new weapons – the ranged Secateur and melee-oriented Klusha. Furthermore, your glove will gain access to a new Techno-Stasis ability, allowing you to manipulate time itself.

To help tide players until August, a New Game+ mode is now available for free as part of the latest game update. According to the game’s team, “players will need all of their previously unlocked skills and arsenal to deal with the strongest enemies Atomic Heart has ever unleashed, thanks to their new specific resistances and attack effects, which will be reflected in the different colours of the enemies’ aura”.
