Although the news doesn’t come as too big a surprise given it is their flagship franchise with a fanbase build across multiple console generations, but Square Enix has shared some solid numbers for their first week post-launch for Final Fantasy XVI. It has been reported that across worldwide shipment and digital sale numbers of the action RPG, more than 3 million copies have been unleashed upon the gaming audience.
For those who are still keen on picking up the game, Final Fantasy XVI is currently exclusive to the PlayStation 5, and will be so until at least 31 December 2023, where given the series’ history it will be rolled out onto Xbox and PC platforms in 2024.
Keep an eye out on The Otaku’s Study this weekend for a comprehensive review of Final Fantasy XVI.
