Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne Set for Release on 23rd May 1

Video game developer and publisher Square Enix has used their recent Final Fantasy XIV Online Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast to announce that the next patch for the game, titled Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne, will be available to download and play from Tuesday 23 May 2023.

The announcement was made by Producer and Director Naoki “YoshiP” Yoshida through the introduction of a new trailer, providing players with a glimpse of what to anticipate in the forthcoming patch’s lifecycle.

The update will feature new main scenario quests, a new raid dungeon, a new trial, and several other features. Patch 6.4 will also include updates to the Crystalline Conflict and Frontline PvP, along with numerous Island Sanctuary updates such as outdoor furnishing placements, and an overview of the next Variant and Criterion dungeons launching with Patch 6.45.

The content of Patch 6.4

  • New Main Scenario Quests: The next chapter in the story of the Warrior of Light.
  • New Raid Dungeon: Pandæmonium: Anabaseios: The final instalment of the Pandæmonium raid series.
  • New Dungeon: Aetherfont
  • New Trial: The Voidcast Dais: Battle against Golbez at both Normal and Extreme difficulties.
  • New Unreal Trial: Fight against the mighty Zurvan in Containment Bay Z1T9 (Unreal).
  • New Side Story Quests: Tataru’s Grand Endeavour continues.
  • Duty Support System Update: Support for several Stormblood main scenario dungeons will be added, allowing for solo completion alongside a party of NPC allies.
  • Ocean Fishing Update: A new route towards Kugane.
  • Island Sanctuary Updates: New sanctuary ranks and items, construction plots, craftable items, crops, animals, and the ability to place outdoor furnishings near structures.
  • Player Versus Player Updates: Crystalline Conflict – PvP Series 4 begins alongside Season 7 of Crystalline Conflict, and adjustments to the Frontline rules.
  • Miscellaneous Updates: Introduction of a new Allagan tomestone currency, user interface updates, the ability to glamour scholar faeries, and several quality-of-life improvements.

The content of Patch 6.45

  • Blue Mage Update: Level cap raised to 80, new blue mage-exclusive gear, new enemies and more.
  • New Variant and Criterion Dungeons: Mount Rokkon, designed for 1-4 players, with enemy difficulty scaling depending on party size.
  • Further Hildibrand Adventures
  • Weapon and Tool Enhancement Quests: Manderville Weapons and Splendorous Tools.
