While no longer the publisher of Marvelous’ long-running Bokujou Monogatari framing simulation franchise, Natsume has kept their Harvest Moon franchise running with a series of their own games in the same genre. The latest game, titled Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, has been confirmed to be releasing later this year on a number of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC (Steam).
Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos seeks to introduce players to a diverse range of animals and crops, as they manage a thriving farm in the world of Anthos. Alongside traditional farm animals like cows, chickens, and horses, players can also befriend unique pets such as parakeets, owls, rabbits, wolves, and Bengal tigers. The game encourages players to cultivate a variety of crops, including corn, giant squash, and pineapples, as well as flowers like hibiscus and tulips. To grow both regular and rare crops, players must collect seeds from around the world with the help of Harvest Wisps.
Set in the land of Anthos, home to the Harvest Sprites and the Harvest Goddess, players will explore a world recovering from a devastating volcanic eruption that left villages isolated from one another. The story follows the Harvest Goddess, who sent a magic key and letter into the ocean, hoping to one day reconnect the people of Anthos. Players will encounter a range of interesting characters, such as Westley and Vivi, who help lead the multicultural hub of Providence Village.
We are very excited to show players more of the expansive world of Anthos, starting with Providence Village!” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “We’re sure our fans are looking forward to exploring every inch of it as we continue to reveal the people, animals and crops in this new world
