Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection Now Available on PS4, Switch

Following a period of exclusivity on the PC (via Steam) and mobile platforms, Square Enix has released the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection onto the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. This digital-exclusive release is now available to purchase via the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop respectively, with backwards compatibility available on the PlayStation 5. This series, which encompasses Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy IV, seeks to offer fans the classic games with upgraded features, whilst retaining their original retro design.

Exclusive features for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection includes the ability to switch between rearranged and original soundtracks, a choice of in-game fonts, and additional gameplay options such as disabling random encounters and adjusting experience gained multipliers. The remastered series can be purchased individually or as a bundle on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop.

As with many games nowadays, there are perks being offered for early purchasers. Nintendo Switch buyers who purchase by May 25, 2023, will receive two themed wallpapers based on their purchased games or all 12 wallpapers if they purchase the complete I-VI bundle. PlayStation 4 purchasers who buy between launch and 25 May 2023, will receive game-specific themes and avatars or all six themes and avatars if they purchase the complete bundle.
