The PlayStation Plus Collection Service to Be Discontinued

Launched alongside the release of the PlayStation 5 back in 2020, the PlayStation Plus Collection was a curated library of PlayStation 4 games made available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers who owned a PS5. This collection consisted of both first and third party games, including Bloodborne, The Last of Us Remastered, Detroit: Become Human, Until Dawn, and was a good welcome package to newcomers wanting to dive into some of the previous console generation’s defining games.

Pre-dating the current PlayStation Plus Games Collection, which is receiving monthly updates from Sony Interactive Entertainment rather than the static library, there has been indications that it would forever be a nifty library which received no further attention. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment has today confirmed that starting 9 May 2023, it will be removed from all PlayStation 5 consoles.

If you haven’t already redeemed the game’s available as part of the PlayStation Plus Collection, you will want to add them to your library before the date arrives. This is since you will continue to be able to access those games even after the discontinuation date, provided you remain a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

Games currently or previously available as part of the soon-to-be-defunct PlayStation Plus Collection include:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Bloodborne
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Zombie Chronicles Edition
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Edition
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Mortal Kombat 10
  • Persona 5
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Resident Evil 7
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Until Dawn
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
