ESL Gaming last weekend hosted their first ever Australian DreamHack Festival at Melbourne & Olympic Parks, and post-event, have shared that attendance numbers totalled just over 21,000 guests. The inaugural event consisted of opportunities involving both local talent and international stars of gaming – along with a range of festivities revolving around esports, content creation, live music, LAN tournaments and more.

Bringing the first DreamHack festival to Australia has been a huge accomplishment – it was fantastic to see thousands of Australian & International gaming and esports fans come through Melbourne Park over the weekend. After a few challenging years without in-person events, DreamHack Melbourne has demonstrated that the appetite for top-tier live gaming & esports content is now higher than ever.

Here’s hoping that these numbers continue to support future interest in eSports opportunities across Australia – on a local, national and international level.
