Ding! Your Check in to The Devil in Me Opens 18 November 2022

You will be checking in at this eerie, dimly lit hotel on 18 November 2022. Don’t expect a nice relaxing time with room service, a few overpriced naughty nibbles from minibar, or a good nights rest. Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Supermassive Games has decided this will be the check-in day for The Devil in Me, the fourth game in the standalone The Dark Pictures Anthology series of narrative-driven interactive horror games.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared some more details on what your experience, or at least those of the five protagonists, will entail. In addition to boasting an increased runtime of 7+ hours, additional systems have been introduced in hopes to provide new puzzle-solving opportunities and immerse you in the world. More information on these can be found below:

You can now interact much more with the world around you and enjoy new exploration actions which enrich this experience. As players tread the detailed and creepy corridors of the murder hotel, they will be able to push and pull objects, as well as run, jump or climb to reach areas that would otherwise have been inaccessible.

We also added an inventory system, with each character having a number of tools at their disposal to aid them in their story such as a directional microphone, camera and camera flash, tie pin and reporters pencil, items that will prove very useful over the course of your playthrough. Some objects can even be altered, broken or given to other characters, and some can save a life, or even take it!

And this story is not just about running and hiding. You’ll need to get your thinking caps on, as the game will bring puzzles too. You’ll need to find codes, hidden or disguised in the world, untangle antique fuse boxes and find your way out of mazes, and failure might prove to be very costly indeed!

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is the fourth instalment in Supermassive Games’ series of interactive horror games, each of which are standalone experiences featuring branching storylines, new settings and a new cast of characters. This chapter will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the Windows PC (via Steam).
