Fortnite Now Playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming on Select Mobile Devices

Following GeForce Now’s announcement back in February 2022 that they would be introducing Fortnite to their cloud gaming platform, players have even more options in accessing the popular battle royale game on their mobile devices. Microsoft’s Xbox team has today confirmed a partnership with developer Epic Games to make Fortnite available on select browser-enabled devices for free with their Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) platform.

Using the service, Fortnite fans can play anywhere and across devices with only a Microsoft Account and a browser-enabled device, including iPhones and iPads in which cloud gaming is the only option available.

Microsoft has confirmed that an Xbox Game Pass membership is not required to play.

It’s an important step to add a Free-to-Play title to the cloud gaming catalog as we continue our cloud journey. We’re starting with Fortnite and will look to bring more Free-to-Play games people love in the future. At Xbox we want to make gaming accessible to the 3 billion players around the world, and cloud has an important role in that mission. Quite simply we want you to have more choice in both the games you play and the way you choose to play them.
