Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Goes Free-to-Play Next Month

More than a year and a half after the launch of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, the team at Mediatonic have confirmed changes are coming from 21 June 2022. Perhaps the biggest news is that the game will be going free-to-play from that date, to be replaced by a season-pass system popular with other battle royale games.

Those who have supported the game since launch will be eligible to receive a Legacy Pack, which contains “a bunch of spangly cosmetic items and the first Season Pass for free”. The season pass is described as “a new, supercharged version of the game’s free progression path that can be purchased with the new in-game currency, Show-Bucks. The game’s free progression path will remain in place, along with the existing currency, Kudos”.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Goes Free-to-Play Next Month 1

The first new season in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s development cycle is titled “Free for All”, which will see the beans “beans arrive en masse to a giant arena to compete for ultimate glory in brand-new events and locations”.

Prefer a next generation experience? Your favourite platform not supported? Mediatonic has also confirmed that at the same time as the game going free-to-play, it will be made available via multiple additional platforms including the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, the PC via the Epic Games Store (replacing availability via Steam), and the PlayStation 5. All versions will feature crossplay and cross-progression.
