Final Fantasy XIV’s Oceania Data Center To Release in February 2022

Presumably in line with what could be Final Fantasy XIV Version 6.1, Square Enix has announced that the Oceanic Data Center supporting SEA, Australia and New Zealand will be officially released in February 2022. This means that those hoping to make the jump from the North American, European or Japanese servers onto a locally hosted world will need to wait just a little while longer.

Square Enix has confirmed that the Data Center will be named Materia, keeping in line with the naming conventions of other FFXIV Data Centers. World names have yet to be confirmed, but expect to hear more in the future.

For those looking to transfer, the worlds in the Materia DC will be treated as ‘New Worlds’, and shall therefore support free World Transfers and other bonuses which could (but isn’t confirmed to) include:

  • The ability to carry up to 999,999,999 gil to their new world
  • Estate owners may have the full cost of the land returned to them, and receive an additional sum to compensate for lost furnishings.
  • Apartment owners will receive the full cost of their apartment back and receive an additional sum to compensate for lost furnishings.

Expect to hear more in the coming weeks.
