Well over a year since Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris launched for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC in July 2020, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Aquria has rolled out the first DLC for the action RPG titled ‘Blooming of Forget-me-not‘.
Blooming of Forget-Me-Not is a single player adventure which the developers hope provides “a wealth of new content”. It follows Kirito having a terrible dream of losing Eugeo during the fierce battle against the Administrator, leading Kirito to seek for a second sword in order to protect his friends. Players will follow Kirito and Eugeo on a new adventure, as they travel to four new places, searching for the resources necessary to craft the “ultimate sword”.
For those who may wish to dive into the game again but don’t desire to part with any money… a free update has been released which includes new costumes for Alphen and Shionne from Tales of Arise as well as for Mito from “Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night”.
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is based on the Alicization arc of the original light novel and anime works. But, similar to other video game adaptations, it is a non-canonical ‘what-if’ situation, which brings together a majority of the main characters from the series and sets them off on an alternate narrative.
