Marking their upcoming release of Sonic Colours: Ultimate on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch – SEGA has shared the first instalment in their new two-part animated web series titled Rise of the Wisps. SEGA states that this video is designed to “[introduce] fans to the new Jade Wisp and [welcome] the return of Sonic, Tails and the notorious Dr Eggman from the Sonic Colours universe”.
In the first episode of Rise of the Wisps, Sonic and Tails are joined by a lone Jade Wisp, who narrowly escapes the deceptively charming Sweet Mountain ride at Dr Eggman’s Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park. Together, Sonic, Tails and their new companion must band together to uncover Dr Eggman’s evil plot to harness the Wisps’ powers and take over the universe.
Developed by SEGA and serving as a remaster of the original Sonic Colours released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2010, Conic Colours Ultimate will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch from 7 September 2021.
