Survios Inc. and Taito Corp. are taking the Puzzle Bobble series to virtual reality platforms from today, with their release of Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey on the Oculusi Quest and Quest 2. Marking the franchises upcoming 35th anniversary, this is the first VR instalment in the series, and is priced at a reasonable $19.99 USD (or local equivalent) via Oculus Home.
In Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey, puzzle sleuths will be invited to tackle approximately 100 three-dimension levels of bubble bursting action. Players must aim, match, and burst bubbles to advance through the islands and master each level with a 3-star ranking.
The experience will be shaken up through power-ups, which can be used through VR interactions, giving players access to new tools and techniques to maximise their popping powers. Once players have played through story mode, they can shoot their way to a high score in the fast-paced 1v1 versus mode, where the challenge is on to pop the biggest clusters and send jammer bubbles to opponents.
