Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.55 Release Date Confirmed for Next Week

New adventures await the many Warriors of Light around the world from next week, with Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.55 is launching on Tuesday 25 May 2021 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC versions of the game. This update coincides with the developer officially launching the game’s PlayStation 5 client, putting an end on its open beta phase.

This is the second major part of the Patch 5.5 rollout, which will take players to the November 2021 launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Players can look forward to the following new additions:

Patch 5.5 Main Scenario, Part II
The second part of this final main scenario update before Endwalker sets the stage for the upcoming expansion in grand fashion.

YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse
Additional YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse story has been added to this epic crossover questline.

“Save the Queen” Questline Update
This latest update includes a new field area, “Zadnor,” an increased resistance rank cap of 25, final enhancement of resistance weapons, and new large-scale battle content Dalriada for up to 48 players.

So in return for these new additions, expect a larger-than-usual Tuesday patch download next week, and perhaps a slightly longer maintenance window.
