Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Smashes Onto New Gen Consoles (and Switch)

If you have been playing the last-generation version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and have either an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 – be sure to pop in your game disc and upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time from Activision and Toys for Bob is now available on both platforms, in addition to the Nintendo Switch as of this week. This means that all consoles actively being developed for as of 2021 have a version of the 2020 platformer, with a PC version to follow later in the year.

Some of the enhancements offered in the new generation version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time include:

  • Native 4K resolution with a target FPS of 60 FPS.
  • Enhanced 3D Audio with a supported headset on the PS5 and spatial audio on the Xbox Series X|S
  • Support for the adaptive DualSense controller triggers. According to them, you will be able to “feel the force of Neo Cortex’s DNA-changing blaster, the grip of Tawna’s Hookshot, the power of Crash’s Jetboard, and really feel the suction when you vacuum with Dingodile” (PS5 Only)
  • Support for the Activity Cards functionality, allowing you to track your progress towards unlocking trophies and acquiring one-hundred-and-six percent completion. (PS5 Only)

While these improvements will not be offered on the Nintendo Switch version, the full original game is now available for Switch-exclusive owners to enjoy.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time are now available for $59.99 USD, £59.99, €69.99 or local equivalent.
