As someone who grew up becoming acquainted with many of the PlayStation’s iconic characters during the PS2 era, I am stoked to see the lombrax Ratchet and his robotic companion Clank unite again for another adventure in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and all the enhanced capabilities the console brings, here’s hoping that audiences both old and new, can unite for a memorable and genre-defining experience soon. But… how far away is that, “soon”?
Developer Insomniac Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment this week confirmed Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch on 11 June 2021. Digital pre-orders, and physical pre-orders from select stores, have now commenced.
“All of us at Insomniac Games say thank you for your support of Ratchet & Clank across the last 19 years and four generations of PlayStation consoles. It’s been an incredible journey so far and we’re excited to share the next chapter with you soon.
If you’ve never played a Ratchet & Clank game before, this is an excellent one to start with as the adventure is a stand-alone storyline, but longtime fans of the series will find deeper layers of connection to previous games.
