Action-Thriller ‘Judgment’ Heads to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and Google Stadia in April

Originally released for the PlayStation 4 in June 2019 (or December 2018 in Japan), Judgment was an action-thriller adventure game developed by the acclaimed Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. With a new generation of consoles now upon us, SEGA has confirmed that Judgment will be released on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Google Stadia platforms on 23 April 2021, at a price of $39.99 USD or local equivalent.

According to SEGA, this version of Judgment “takes advantage of the new hardware with refined visuals in 60 frames per second along with improved load times and includes all previously released DLC on these three platforms”. As this is being pitched as more of a remaster than a brand new release, it does not appear there will be a free or lower-price “upgrade” route from the PlayStation 4 version to the PlayStation 5.

Judgment is an action thriller that puts players in the shoes of Takayuki Yagami, disgraced attorney turned rugged private detective, as he uncovers the mystery behind a grisly series of murders. Joined by his partner, ex-yazuka Masaharu Kaito, Yagami must claw his way through Kamurocho’s criminal underground to unravel the truth – as painful as it may be.

With many Yakuza-series elements to its gameplay, Judgment seeks to up the ante with emphasis on investigative gameplay tracking suspects and discovering clues as Yagami walks the thin line of justice in a world of corruption.
